We’ve always had a vision to Rule work and enjoy life. As a garage startup from San Diego, things were bound to evolve in a, well, “creative way”. After the first 10,000 companies singed up to Rule work, we made a discovery: Conversations are the fuel of productivity. Email was not built for team collaboration and while Rule does have a stream, we built it last to tie work activity and conversations together. We needed to build from the conversation first, but how were we going to manage that?
Across the county, another team with more experience in their back pocket than our motley crew combined were up something—building Glip, the team conversation platform. At first, they were crushing on our stellar product designer, Mr. D. C. Woods, but when we swapped stories and saw what they were up to, the decision was obvious—combine forces to go finish what we started. After all, these guys put the social in social fantasy sports and created the social feed two years before Facebook got made. So when founder & CEO of Glip, Peter Pezaris, popped open his MacBook the first time to give us a sneak peak, well, you’ll just have to see for yourself.
If you haven’t already checked out Glip for yourself or watched the promo, here’s the 411…
Glip is your team’s conversation platform to plan, share & organize work. We designed Glip so that teams can jump right in, with zero learning curve, and do better work together. No technical skills are required to use Glip, and it boosts your productivity from the very first user. Glip removes communication barriers with built-in text and video chat and includes file sharing, tasks management, shared calendars and more, all seamlessly integrated. Basically, Glip is where wanted to take Rule, and the reason why we believe in the vision to make the world more productive, one team at a time.
Since the beginning, conversations have been the natural way of getting things done, together – what we now call collaboration. As people talk, they stumble upon ideas that motivate them to take action. They create teams to help them organize the work around those ideas. Teams share knowledge, plan the days ahead, debate on how to overcome obstacles, decide who has to do what (and by when) and, and as a result, innovation is born. So how do we take what’s already natural and give it a boost with technology? We start where all great things begin—the conversation.
Glip is built as a conversation platform, with text and video chat at its core. We believe that the conversation is the foundation of business performance. It is in the conversation that ideas are debated, problems are solved, and cultures are developed. Some collaboration solutions put files, tasks, or projects at the center of business performance. Then, the communication around those elements is bolted on through email notifications or other messaging technologies that keep the team informed, but do not allow for a natural flow of inventiveness and creativity. Glip unleashes the free flow of communication within your team, and drives natural processes within the conversation, so nothing is lost, including the cultural pillars of your success.
There is more on the subject of Glip as we prepare for the coming launch, but for all of you Rulers out there, check your email and get the code to get Glipping today in addition to some more details on what’s going down on the Rule front. Thanks for sharing this journey and we can’t wait to here what you think about Glip.
